Urologists
Urologists diagnose and treat a variety of diseases in the urinary tract for both male and female patients. Furthermore, urologists can also specialise in the male reproductive tract and a number of issues which can surround this.
The urinary tract is a complex system which includes the kidneys, bladder, urethra, ureters, and the adrenal glands. When it comes to the reproductive tract, urologists also treat issues with the penis, prostate and testicles.
When to see a urologist
If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, you might need to see a urologist:
- Suspect you have kidney stones
- Experiencing UTIs (urinary tract infections)
- Have an overactive bladder
In men, a urologist should be consulted if you’re experiencing;
- Erectile dysfunction
- Infertility
- Enlargement of the prostate gland
