Paediatricians
Paediatricians specialise in children’s health. They not only take care of a child’s physical health but also look after their behavioural and mental health. Paediatricians are experts in illnesses, diseases, and conditions that affect babies, children, and teenagers. They diagnose and treat diseases as well as track the physical and mental development of children in all age groups.
When to see a paediatrician
Babies are checked by a paediatrician from day one, and you will have to see a paediatrician frequently for routine check-ups until they reach a certain age. The frequency of these visits might depend on the child’s overall health condition and age. You should also take your child to see a paediatrician if symptoms like those from the list below persist:
- High Fever
- Diarrhoea and/or vomiting
- Cold, cough, and other respiratory problem
- Rash
- Persistent pain anywhere
- Other symptoms that don’t ease within a few days
