World Hypertension Day

May 2020

Hypertension means "High blood pressure", "pressjoni għolja" in Maltese. The aims of this event is to raise awareness about the risks associated with high blood pressure and to get people screened for high blood pressure. The higher the blood pressure the harder it is for your heart to pump. Risks of high blood pressure can originate from many factors including age, race, family history, being overweight or obese or not being physically active, smoking, too much salt in your diet, too much alcohol, and stress.
